SG MS1 offers 3 selectable output modes for different recording scenarios.
Choose cardioid or bi-directional mono recording to suit your needs. Mono Cardioid is recommened for dialogue, vlogging, and focused sound sources, while bi-directional works well for two-person interviews and sound effects in gaming and film production.
Records audio using both the front and side capsules for an unprocessed M/S signal. Perfect for music, ambience, and field recording with maximum flexibility in post production.
Converts Mid-Side signals into standard left and right stereo channels in real time. Ideal for TV production, news gathering, broadcasting, and other applications that require natural stereo sound with minimal post-production.
With a wide frequency response and high sensitivity, the SG MS1 delivers clear, detailed sound with natural vocal reproduction and crisp consonant clarity across a wide range of recording environments.

Quickly adjust stereo width and gain settings while monitoring real-time audio levels in the Saramonic System App. Fine-tune your recording setup on the spot and achieve the sound you want before hitting record.

With TRS, XLR, and USB-C connectivity, the SG MS1 works with cameras, recorders, and mobile devices for studio and field recording. Simply plug in and start recording.
The SG MS1 features a durable all-metal body designed to withstand the demands of field recording and everyday production. Measuring only 5.9 inches and weighing only 3.2 oz, its compact, lightweight design makes it easy to carry and mount directly on a camera for daily shooting and mobile production.

Operates on 48V phantom power, USB-C power, or the built-in rechargeable battery for up to 5 hours of use, giving the SG MS1 the flexibility to work with cameras, audio recorders, mixers, computers, and mobile recording setups.

A traditional shotgun microphone primarily captures directional mono sound. The SG MS1 combines a directional Mid capsule with a Figure-8 Side capsule, allowing it to record both the main sound source and the surrounding acoustic space.
M-S, or Mid-Side, stereo uses a forward-facing Mid signal for the main subject and a Side signal for ambient information. These signals can be combined to create a stereo image with adjustable width.
Decoded L/R outputs a ready-to-use stereo signal for real-time monitoring and faster production. Raw M-S preserves the original Mid and Side signals, allowing the stereo width to be adjusted during post-production.
Not always. Decoded L/R mode provides a stereo signal directly from the microphone. Post-production decoding is only required when recording in Raw M-S mode.
Yes. The Mid signal provides a clear, focused center channel, making the SG MS1 suitable for mono-compatible workflows as well as stereo production.
The SG MS1 is suitable for documentary filmmaking, independent productions, live performances, field recording, sound effects, soundscape recording, outdoor content and other situations where both the subject and the surrounding space matter.
