AMSTERDAM, September 2026 — Saramonic concluded a successful showcase at IBC 2026, held September 11–14 at RAI Amsterdam, where the brand presented its latest professional audio solutions to broadcasters, filmmakers, production teams, audio professionals, and industry partners from around the world.
This year, Saramonic placed a strong focus on professional crew communication, highlighting the WiTalk intercom ecosystem led by Saramonic WiTalk Base and Saramonic WiTalk9 X. The booth also featured professional wireless audio solutions including the flagship Saramonic K9, demonstrating how Saramonic is expanding its professional audio ecosystem across both on-set communication and sound capture.
IBC 2026 brought together 41,225 attendees from 170 countries and more than 1,300 exhibitors, providing an important meeting point for the global media, entertainment, and technology community.
WiTalk Base and WiTalk9 X Bring Scalable Crew Communication to IBC 2026
As productions grow in scale, reliable communication between directors, camera crews, sound teams, stage teams, and other departments becomes increasingly important. At IBC 2026, Saramonic demonstrated how its WiTalk ecosystem can support these more demanding production environments.
At the center of the showcase was Saramonic WiTalk Base, a professional wireless intercom base station designed for larger production teams. A single WiTalk Base supports up to 16 full-duplex users, while linking multiple base stations can scale the system to 64 users. It also supports up to eight role-based groups, allowing departments to communicate independently while remaining part of the same production communication system.
Operating on the 1.9 GHz DECT band, WiTalk Base provides a communication range of up to 700 meters under suitable conditions. It also supports USB Audio Class and 4-wire connectivity, helping integrate the system with computers, remote communication platforms, and third-party production infrastructure. For teams planning larger communication workflows, Saramonic also provides a practical guide on how to set up an intercom system for a large production crew.
Paired with WiTalk Base, Saramonic WiTalk9 X gives production teams greater flexibility in how individual crew members communicate. Its modular headset design can be configured for single-ear, dual-ear, or helmet-ready use, helping accommodate different production roles and working environments.
WiTalk9 X also features Saramonic's ClearTalk™ 2.0 audio processing system with a directional dual-microphone array and AI-powered noise cancellation of up to 40 dB. With a communication range of up to 400 meters, WiTalk9 X supports up to nine users in a hub-free setup, allowing it to operate independently for smaller teams or become part of the larger WiTalk Base ecosystem when productions need to scale.
Together, WiTalk Base and WiTalk9 X demonstrate Saramonic's approach to building a more flexible intercom ecosystem — one that can adapt from compact production crews to large, multi-department operations.
Professional Wireless Audio for Film and Broadcast Production
Alongside its intercom solutions, Saramonic also showcased its professional wireless audio lineup at IBC 2026, including the flagship Saramonic K9 Dual-Channel Digital UHF Wireless Audio System.
Designed for filmmakers and professional sound teams, K9 combines digital UHF transmission with automatic frequency scanning to help maintain stable wireless performance in demanding RF environments. The system provides a 130 dB input dynamic range, while its transmitters support 32-bit float onboard recording and synchronization to external timecode, helping streamline professional production and post-production workflows.
K9 also works with the Saramonic System for convenient device control and frequency management, helping sound teams manage wireless audio more efficiently on set. Together with its compact 3 mm lavalier microphones and production-oriented connectivity, K9 is designed to support professional location sound across film, broadcast, commercial production, and other demanding recording environments.
By presenting professional wireless audio alongside the WiTalk intercom ecosystem, Saramonic highlighted a broader approach to production sound: helping crews not only capture critical audio, but also communicate effectively throughout the production process.
